This notice explains what happens to information when you read 19216811ip.co. The short version: this is a static help site about router logins. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no comment forms, so there's very little for us to hold.

Nothing to register for

You can read every page without creating an account or giving us your name. We don't run a newsletter, a forum or a comment section. The only personal details we receive directly are the ones you choose to send by email.

The address checker stays on your device

The guide includes a small tool that checks whether an address like 192.168.1.1 was typed correctly. It runs as JavaScript inside your browser. What you type isn't sent to our server, saved or shared. Close the tab and it's gone.

What reaches our servers when you visit

Our web servers keep standard access logs, as almost every site does. Each request can record:

  • your IP address
  • your browser's user-agent string, which names the browser and operating system
  • the page or file requested, and the referring page if your browser sends it
  • the date and time of the request

We use these logs to keep the site running, find errors and block abusive traffic. They're kept for a limited period and then deleted as the logs rotate. We don't use them to build profiles of readers, and we don't sell them.

Cloudflare sits in front of the site

Pages are delivered through Cloudflare, a content delivery and security network. Cloudflare handles connection data, including IP addresses, so it can serve pages quickly and filter out attacks. It may set a strictly necessary cookie when it needs to tell people apart from automated traffic. Its practices are described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Google Analytics and AdSense

The site may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which parts of the guide get read. It may also show ads through Google AdSense to help pay for hosting.

If these services are active, Google and its partners can set cookies or use similar technologies, like device identifiers. They use them to measure traffic and to serve and measure ads. Ads may be personalized based on your earlier visits to this site or to other websites.

Google describes what it collects, and why, in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Turning ad and analytics tracking down

You can limit what these services do:

  • Switch off personalized Google ads in Google's Ads Settings. You'll still see ads, just not ones based on your interests.
  • Opt out of interest-based ads from other participating companies with the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices tool.
  • Stop Google Analytics from recording your visits with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The guide works fine without them.

Where the law requires your consent before analytics or advertising cookies are used, we'll ask for it through a consent message before those services run. You can change your mind later through that message or by clearing this site's cookies.

If you email us

Writing to contact@19216811ip.co gives us your email address and whatever your message contains. We use it to reply and, when you report an error, to check and fix the guide. We keep messages only as long as they're useful for that. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your message with advertisers. Please don't include passwords.

Children

This site is written for adults setting up home networks. It isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has emailed us personal details, let us know and we'll delete the message.

Readers in other countries

People read this guide from many countries. The services that help run it, such as Cloudflare and Google, may process data in more than one region. Depending on where you live, the law may let you ask what's held about you, or ask us to delete it. Since we hold so little, most requests will concern email you've sent us. Write to us and we'll respond to what applies.

When this notice changes

If we add or drop a service that affects your data, we'll update this page and its date. Changes apply from that date.
