These terms cover your use of 19216811ip.co, a free guide to signing in to and troubleshooting home routers. By reading or using the site, you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the site.

A guide, not a support service

Everything here is general information. We write it carefully and check it against official sources. Still, router menus, defaults and firmware differ between models and change over time. The content is provided "as is," with no warranty of any kind. We don't promise it's accurate, complete or right for your equipment.

Using the site doesn't create a support relationship. For help with a specific device or account, contact its manufacturer or your internet provider.

Your router, your call

You decide whether to follow any step, and you're responsible for what happens on your equipment. Keep these points in mind before changing settings:

  • A factory reset erases custom settings, including your Wi-Fi name and password, the admin password and any port forwarding rules. You'll have to set them up again.
  • Changing the router's LAN address, DHCP or DNS settings can knock devices offline until they reconnect.
  • Equipment supplied by an internet provider may be managed remotely, and the provider may limit or reverse your changes.

Note your current settings before you change anything, and check your model's own manual when in doubt.

Only sign in to networks you manage

Use this guide only on routers and networks you own or have permission to manage. That might be your home network, or an office network you run with your employer's approval. Getting into someone else's router or network without permission may be illegal where you live, and we won't help with it.

Brand names on this site

Product and company names such as Linksys, TP-Link and NETGEAR belong to their owners. We use them only to identify equipment, so readers can match instructions to what they have. Mentioning a brand doesn't mean that company sponsors, endorses or works with this site.

Links that leave 19216811ip.co

Some pages link to outside websites, such as manufacturer support pages or operating-system help. We link to them because they're useful sources. We don't control them, though, and we aren't responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Their own terms apply once you're there.

Reusing our content

The text, illustrations and design of 19216811ip.co are the site's own work. You're welcome to link to any page, or to quote a short passage with a link back. Please don't republish whole sections of the guide or present them as your own.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, 19216811ip.co and its editorial team aren't liable for loss or damage from using the site. The same goes for being unable to use it. That includes lost settings, network downtime, lost data and equipment problems. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

When these terms change

We may revise these terms as the site changes. The date on this page shows the current version. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the revised terms.
